Chester County and the Borough are on a calendar year; the school district is on a fiscal year from July 1 to June 30. All three taxes offer a discount period of 60 days from the date of the mailing, a base amount period of the next 60 days, and a 10% penalty added after 120 days.
Borough bills are only mailed to homeowners. If taxes are escrowed, it is the homeowners responsibility to forward to their mortgage company.
Downingtown Borough residents and non residents pay a 1% earned income tax and a Local Services Tax of $52.00 per year. These taxes are collected by Keystone Collection Group. |
