Administrative Assistant/Codes Department (Part-time):
The Borough of Downingtown is seeking a highly qualified administrative assistant/codes clerk who will be responsible to review and process building, plumbing, electrical and mechanical permit applications, contractor registrations, residential rental permit applications, schedule inspections, create invoices, update new tenant information and maintain current property files. Serve as the Planning Commission secretary which will require attending meetings held during the evening and preparing agendas and assembling and providing information packets to Planning Commission members prior to their scheduled meetings. Exceptional administrative and organizational skills and ability to multi-task is imperative in this position. Provide administrative office support to Codes Department staff, as well as, third party inspection agencies. Flexible hours, hourly wage up to $25.00; dependent on experience. STREET MAINTENANCE WORKER I:
The Public Works Department is recruiting for a Street Maintenance Worker I. This is a full-time union (AFSCME) position.
Starting rate is $22.95 with a 6-month probation period. Rate after probation period is $23.87.
Applicant must obtain the ability to independently operate all street equipment within the probation period.
Work hours are typically 7:00am – 3:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Position requires on-call status, occasional weekend and holiday work and must be available for emergencies.
DUTIES: Under supervision of the Director of Public Works, perform duties and responsibilities of Street Maintenance Worker I.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED
Possession of a valid driver’s license, and within twelve months from hire possession of a Class B CDL with airbrake and tanker endorsement is required.
Requires drug testing and background verification including references and criminal record checks prior to employment.
