BOROUGH OF DOWNINGTOWN PUBLIC NOTICE

NOTICE IS GIVEN that the Borough of Downingtown’s Civil Service Commission will hold a public meeting at 10:00 AM on May 16, 2024, at Downingtown Borough Hall located at 4 W. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, Pennsylvania 19355 to consider an amendment to its administrative rules and regulations. 

An opportunity will be afforded to all interested persons in attendance to address the Civil Service Commission.  Please contact Chief Brendan Brazunas at 484-798-7198 if you need to request a disability accommodation to attend this meeting.


DOWNINGTOWN BOROUGH ZONING HEARING BOARD MEETING NOTICE

The Zoning Hearing Board of the Borough of Downingtown, Chester County, PA, will meet on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. at Borough Hall, 4 West Lancaster Avenue to consider:

Application ZHB 2024-003: Daniel Pascual for the property located at 144 Viaduct Avenue (R-4 Zoning District) for a variance from Downingtown Code Section 150-6.02 to allow the recently installed paving and fencing to remain in the floodplain.       


Applicants may request other relief that may be necessary based on the evidence presented. The Board may consider other matters as may properly come before it.

DOWNINGTOWN BOROUGH  CONDITIONAL USE MEETING NOTICE

The Downingtown Borough Council will meet on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at Borough Hall, 4 West Lancaster Avenue to consider:

Conditional Use Application CU 2024-001: 520 East Lancaster Associates, LLC for the property located at 520 East Lancaster Avenue (R-4 Zoning District) for Conditional Use approval under Borough Code Sections § 287-34 A.(1), 287-117, 287-118, and 287-137 to erect up to 22 Signs, as well as any other relief that may be necessary based on the evidence presented. 

Specifically, approval is sought to permit four (4) Wall/Facia signs, as follows: One (1) “Sports Vault” Wall/Fascia sign that is 18 inches in height and 120 inches in length; One (1) “Pizza Hut” Wall/Fascia sign that is 18 inches in height and 120 inches in length; One (1) “Handel’s” Wall/Fascia sign that is 18 inches in height and 144 inches in length; and One (1) “Future Tenant” Wall/Fascia sign that is 18 inches in height and 144 inches in length.  In addition, approval is sought to permit two (2) Awnings at the Handel’s Unit, as follows: One (1) Awning will have a height of 48 inches and a width of 120 inches, and One (1) Awning will have a height of 48 inches and a width of 72 inches.  Approval is also sought to permit fifteen (15) Window Signs at the Handel’s Unit, and each Window Sign is equal to, or less than 8 square feet.  Further approval is sought to permit One (1) Building Identification sign with the text “520,” which is 60 inches in height and 22 inches in width.
