CHRISTMAS TREE PICKUP

January 3, 2012 through January 31, 2012 (Tuesdays and Thursdays)

February 2012 on Thursdays only.

All lights, stands, ornaments, etc must be removed from the trees and disposed of in the regular trash.

NOTICE

This public notice is provided to confirm to the public that Downingtown Borough Council conducted public hearings to consider, and immediately thereafter during their regular meeting, decided to enact certain ordinances amending the Downingtown Borough Code as follows:  On December 21, 2011, Borough Council passed Ordinance No. 2011-13 amending the Borough Zoning Ordinance to add new provisions exempting structures or improvements used for municipal, public safety or civic purposes from compliance with use, dimensional, area and bulk regulations and other zoning regulations.  On December 21, 2011, Borough Council also passed Ordinance No. 2011-10 amending the Borough Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map to expand the C-1 General Commercial Zoning District.  Copies of both ordinances may be examined and obtained for the cost thereof at Downingtown Borough Hall, 4 West Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and copies of these ordinances can also be found via the Borough website at www.downingtown.org

NOTICE


Borough Council has deferred action on Ordinance 2012-01 DMWA Wells
and Water Service to the Council meeting scheduled on
Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.

A copy of the ordinance may be examined and obtained for the cost thereof at Downingtown Borough Hall, 4 West Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, prevailing time, and certified copies are on file at the Chester County Law Library, 201 West Market Street, Suite 2400, West Chester, PA 19380, and at the Daily Local News, 250 North Bradford Avenue, West Chester, PA 19382.  If any person who wishes to attend the meeting has a disability and/or requires an auxiliary aid, service or other accommodation to observe or participate in the proceedings, he or she should contact Steve Sullins, Borough Manager, at 610-269-0344, to discuss how those needs may be accommodated.

2012 PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE 

Notice is hereby given the Borough of Downingtown will hold public meetings on the following days in the year 2012 with the exception of legal holidays.  The following meetings will be held at the Municipal Government Center, 4 W. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, PA  19335 (unless otherwise stated).

Borough Council:  The Council Reorganization Meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. 

Monthly Council meetings will be held the 1st, 3rd & 4th Wednesday of each month (as needed) at 7:00 p.m.  The 3rd & 4th Wednesday meetings will be work sessions.  There will be no meetings held on July 4, November 21 or December 26, 2012.

The Council of the Borough of Downingtown, Chester County, PA may conduct any and all business, including but not limited to making decisions and taking action, as Council shall determine during its public Council meetings and work sessions as well.

Planning Commission:  2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm in the East Conference Room.

Historical & Parks Commission:  1st Tuesday of each month, 3rd Tuesday (as needed) at 7:00 pm in the Borough Archive Room.

Downingtown Municipal Water Authority:  1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 pm (Board Room at the Water Authority). 

Zoning Hearing Board:  3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm, as needed, in Council Chambers.

Downingtown Area Regional Authority:  3rd Monday at 7:30 pm in the East Conference Room.

The public is invited to attend all the above meetings.  If you wish to attend and/or participate in any of  these meetings and are a person with a disability, requiring an auxiliary aid, service or other accommodation to do so, please contact the Borough Administration Office, 610-269-0344 to discuss  how the Borough can best accommodate your wishes.
