The Borough Council of the Borough of Downingtown, Chester County, Pennsylvania, pursuant to 8 Pa. C.S. § 1201.1, is soliciting sealed bids for the purchase of certain real estate, currently owned by the Borough of Downingtown, located at the intersection of Green Street and Lincoln Avenue, UPI #11-8-240-E, containing approximately 0.05 acres, more or less (the “Property”).
Interested persons may obtain a bid package (“Bid Documents”) by contacting Steve Sullins, 4 West Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335, 610-269-0344. Or click here to download. The minimum bid for the Property is $243.00.
Proposals must be submitted no later than Monday, August 4, 2014, 1:00 p.m. local time and in accordance with the Bid Documents to Steven Sullins, Borough Manager, 4 West Lancaster, Downingtown, PA. 19335.
Bids shall be opened at 1:30 p.m. local time on Monday, August 4, 2014 at the Borough Hall, 4 West Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown PA 19335 and will be accepted or rejected at the regular meeting of the Borough Council on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, 7:00 p.m. local time, at the Borough Hall,4 West Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335.
The procedure for submission of sealed bids is described in and subject to the Bid Documents. The Bid Documents also include important information about the Property. The Property shall be made available for sealed bidding in an “as-is” condition only. The Borough is not making any warranty or representation regarding the environmental or physical condition of the Property, its suitability for any particular use, or any other matter. Subject only to certain limited inspection rights as provided in the Bid Documents, the Property is offered for sale “AS IS,” with all faults, and without any obligation on the part of the Borough to cure or correct any defective condition on or about the Property or in the buildings and improvements thereon.
The Borough reserves the absolute right, in its sole discretion, to reject any and all bids, and to waive any and all defects and/or irregularities in bids submitted.

ROAD WORK ALERT:
7.24.14: PECO will be repairing the road surface on E. Lancaster Ave @ Brandywine / Wallace Avenue tonight beginning at 8:00pm. They will begin set up around 7:00pm and will be providing flaggers for traffic control. They have not advised a time frame for completion however it will be completed tonight. This work is to make permanent repairs to the road surface from the gas leak in February 2013.
