REQUEST FOR PROPOSALSThe Borough of Downingtown is seeking formal proposals for the purchase and development of a prime downtown property located at 150 & 170 East Lancaster Avenue, Parcel numbers 11-8-89, 11-8-90 (by agreement) and 11-8-104, containing approximately 36,724 +/- square feet within the Borough of Downingtown’s Central Business District (the “Property”). The Property is bounded by Lancaster and Washington Avenues, and by Parke and Railroad Alleys. The Property is currently zoned C-1 & C-2 and is in the Height Option Overlay District. Part-time Park Rangers (seasonal employment)
The Borough of Downingtown is accepting applications for temporary, part-time positions. This outdoor, seasonal work will be from May through September.
Responsibilities: under general supervision, monitor Borough parks on foot and on bicycle to implement parks and playground regulations. Schedule includes evening and weekend hours. Rate of pay is $10.00/hour. Uniforms are also provided.
Candidates must be 18 years or older to apply. Successful applicant required to pass a physical exam, including drug screening, prior to placement.

STREETSCAPE PROJECT: The Borough of Downingtown, in collaboration with IES Construction and PennDot, are excited to announce that an enhancement project (along E. Lancaster Ave between Lloyd Ave and King Street) will begin in the spring and completion should take approximately 10-12 weeks. The project will include new street lighting, curbing, parking, landscaping, sidewalks and stormwater improvements. (click here to view rendering) We do not expect any road closures but you should anticipate traffic delays especially during the peak rush hour periods. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but the outcome of the enhancements will bring an appealing quality to the community. Downingtown-Thorndale Regional Chamber of Commerce kick off their "Help Raise The Flag" Fundraiser. The Chamber is raising funds to purchase new flags and paint the flag pole. Their goal is to have a new 30'x60' flag for Memorial Day. For more information and to donate, visit www.dtrcc.com
